Police Investigate Disappearance of Odyek Solomon, a popular Comedian in Lira City.
LIRA CITY, UGANDA –January 6, 2026: The Territorial Police in Lira City are actively investigating the disappearance of Odyek Solomon, alias Ajoka Alango, a 33-year-old comedian and resident of Ireda Shamba Cell, Lira City East Division.
The case was reported at Lira City East Division Police Headquarters on January 5, 2026, by Adong Monica, a 34-year-old businesswoman and resident of Anywalonino Cell, Lira City West Division.
Details of the Incident
Preliminary findings reveal that neighbors discovered Solomon’s house in disarray on the morning of January 5, 2026, at approximately 8:00 AM. The door was wide open, the curtain was pulled down, and signs of a struggle were evident. Solomon was missing, and attempts to contact him via phone proved futile as his known mobile number was unreachable.
Several items were reported missing from the residence, including:
A mobile phone
A hoofer
A laptop
A camera stand
Police Response & Investigations
Authorities swiftly responded to the scene, documenting evidence and recording statements from the complainant and neighbors. A police dog was deployed to assist in tracking, and a thorough search was conducted within and around the premises.
During the search, investigators recovered:
Two finger rings
Two unidentified mobile phones (a smartphone and a Techno button phone without a battery or SIM cards)
Police spokesperson SP PJ Okema, the North Kyoga Region Police Relations Officer, stated that efforts are underway to track the stolen devices in hopes of locating the victim and identifying the suspects.
Appeal for Public Cooperation
The police have urged the public to remain calm and assist with any relevant information.
“Investigations are ongoing, and we call upon anyone with information to quietly share it with the police to aid in the investigation,” SP Okema emphasized.
Odyek Solomon, popularly known as Ajoka Alango, is a well-known comedian in the La go sub region. His sudden disappearance has raised concerns among residents and fans alike.
Authorities assure the public that they are treating the matter with urgency and will provide further details as they unfold.
