Powerful Minister/ Agago WMP Beatrice Akello Akori prepares for May 13, 2026 Swearing-in at 12th Parliament

As the 11th Parliament winds down, all eyes in Agago are fixed on May 13, 2026. On that Wednesday, Hon. Beatrice Akello Akori—the woman who has spent the last term policing government performance as the Minister of State for Economic Monitoring—will walk into the August House to take the oath as the Agago District Woman MP for the 12th Parliament.
The ceremony at Parliament House is more than just a formality; it is a homecoming for a leader whose political stock has risen significantly within the NRM party..
A Leap into Middle-Income Status
Hon. Akori is advocating for wealth cration and NRM slogan: “Protecting the gains as we make a Qualitative leap into the Middle‑Income status.” since it is a strategic pivot. Having spent years fighting corruption and monitoring governnent projects minister, Akori is now vowing to use that same “monitoring” grit to ensure that national wealth creation and socio economic transformation of the households of her constituents.
The swearing-in marks a shift in her role. While her time in the Economic Monitoring docket was defined by accountability and audits, her return to the 12th Parliament is about “tangible socio-economic benefits.” Supporters argue that her experience in the inner circles of the of NRM gives Agago District a “seat at the table” that few other districts can boast of.
“The vision is to translate political empowerment into qualitative improvements in livelihoods,” an official from her camp noted. Essentially, Akori is betting that her proximity to the presidency and her deep understanding of government funding gaps will make her Agago’s most effective advocate yet.
