MP Otim Bernard Pushes for Rehabilitation of Roads in Maruzi North.

APAC-The Member of Parliament for Maruzi North County, Hon. Otim Bernard, has intensified efforts to have roads in his constituency rehabilitated.
This follows a meeting he held on Monday with the Commissioner for Roads Rehabilitation at the Ministry of Works and Transport.
The meeting was a follow-up to an earlier letter the legislator had written to the Minister of Works and Transport over what he described as the pathetic and continued failure to rehabilitate roads in Maruzi North and Apac District as a whole.
According to Hon. MP Bernard Otim, several resolutions were reached during the engagement.
“Chegere – Kidilani Road will be handled by a contractor. However, the procurement process for the framework contract is still ongoing,” he said.
He added that in the meantime, the Ministry will borrow road equipment from Apac District Local Government to carry out emergency works on the stretch to ensure accessibility.
On the Corner Amii – Kidilani Road, it was agreed that political leaders from the area must engage the community to provide land for diversion as an emergency measure. Hon. Obong Acuda was contacted to lead the community engagement.
The MP further revealed that Engineer Jimmy Adwek will be on the ground next week to assess the road and ensure that equipment is deployed.
The development has raised hope among residents and district leaders, including Hon. Opira Chegere and Hon. Atigo Robson, who have been concerned about the poor state of roads in Maruzi North.
