Hamson Obua Commends Museveni at Minister Engola’s thanksgiving Prayer.

LIRA, UGANDA–NRM National Vice Chairperson for Northern Uganda, Hon. Denis Hamson Obua, has extended a vote of thanks to President Yoweri Museveni for the party’s performance in the 2026 elections and for appointing 16 ministers from the region.
Speaking on Friday, 18th July 2026 during a thanksgiving ceremony for State Minister for Labour, Hon. Sam Engola, held at Olilo Primary School in Erute South, Lira District, Obua expressed gratitude to the people of Lango, Acholi and West Nile sub-regions, and particularly residents of Erute South, for their overwhelming support to the President and the NRM flag bearers.

“The three sub-regions delivered for NRM and President Museveni the highest number of votes ever recorded from Northern Uganda in Uganda’s electoral history,” Obua said.
He commended the President for appointing 16 ministers from Northern Uganda — 4 from Lango sub-region, 6 from Acholi and 6 from West Nile sub _ region— describing it as “a strong recognition of the region’s contribution to national leadership.”
Obua also commended Hon. Engola for convening the thanksgiving gathering and prayed for God’s guidance as he executes his duties as Member of Parliament and Minister.
The NRM vice chairperson further praised Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja for her “vibrant and committed leadership.”
President Museveni, who was represented, made a shs20 million contribution towards the ceremony.
The event attracted NRM leaders, government officials, cultural leaders and hundreds of residents from across Erute South.
He further warned NRM leadership at district level that no stone will be left unturned as far as corruption fighting is concerned citing the arrestbof three NRM officials in Apac district a few days ago, allegedly over suspected embazzlement.
