THE RISE OF KENNETH ODOO TO MEDIA: From Deejay Decks to Owning Kennedy Bobie Entertainment.

LIRA CITY, UGANDA – In Lira City, where talent is abundant but opportunity is scarce, Odoo Kennedy Bobie, popularly known as Kenneth Odoo, has turned a dream that started on deejay decks into a thriving 20-member media enterprise.
Odoo’s story of resilience, discipline and vision.
Paying own school fees as a DJ
Kenneth’s journey did not start in a studio. It started as a local disc jockey in Lira.
Unlike many of his age mates who spent their earnings on leisure, he invested every coin in education, paying his own school fees until he completed high school.
His passion for sound soon saw him venture into audio production and talent mentorship. Among those he trained are some of Lango’s most recognisable media personalities today – Moto Ronald Toby of QFM, Dorcus Akullu Echel of Unity FM Lira, Bua Akii of QFM and Andrew Onen, one of Uganda’s top advert producers and a celebrated stand-up comedian based in Kampala.
Advice that changed his career:
His major breakthrough came at Unity FM 97.7 Lira under the mentorship of media guru Odongo Charles alias Chako, one of the station’s Directors.

When time came to join university, Kenneth wanted to study journalism. But his mentor offered advice that would shape his future.
“You already know media practically. Go and study something that will give you power outside media,” Chako told him.
He listened. He enrolled for Law.

That decision set him apart from many entertainers. Today, besides running a media brand, he serves with the Legal Aid Project under the Uganda Law Society, Gulu Branch in Amuru, where he helps vulnerable women, children and families access free justice.
Starting with nothing during Covid-19:
In 2020, at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic when many businesses were collapsing, Kenneth started.
With no cameras, no lights and no computers, he founded Kennedy Bobie Entertainment, a YouTube-based platform focusing on entertainment, politics and positive media engagements.
Five years later, what started as a one-man YouTube channel has grown into one of the most recognised and monetised channels in Lango and Acholi sub-regions.

The company now employs more than 20 young people and offers services in event photography, videography, graphic design and media consultancy. It is known for controlled, positive content that preaches peace, love and unity.
His success has inspired a new generation of digital creators, including Promoter Spragga of Spragga Promotions and Mr. Twaaa of InTooDeep.
Winning corporate trust
Kenneth’s clean brand has earned him corporate endorsements. He is the official brand ambassador for Heaven’s Hotel Lira, the leading hospitality brand in Northern Uganda, Timo Seeds Uganda Ltd, a leading agro-input company, and Mirinda Movie Moment.
For many young people in Northern Uganda, Kenneth Odoo represents a new breed of youth – educated, entrepreneurial, culturally grounded and driven by impact, not just fame.
From a deejay who paid his own school fees to a CEO employing over 20 people and a lawyer defending children’s rights in Amuru, his rise proves that you do not need equipment to start – you need vision.
