Office of the President Recalls Bukwo RDC Owanyi George to Headquarters.

BUKWO – The Office of the President has recalled the Resident District Commissioner for Bukwo District, Mr. Owanyi George, to the headquarters to face the Rewards and Sanctions Committee, pending investigations.
According to a communication posted by the Minister for the Presidency, Hon. Milly Babalanda, on her official X handle, Mr. Owanyi has been directed to report back to headquarters with immediate effect.
“For the meantime, the Deputy RDC will take charge of the station. I highly emphasize discipline and teamwork amongst all staff serving under the Office of the President,” Hon. Babalanda said.
A letter dated August 27, 2026, signed by the Secretary, Office of the President, Haji Kakande Yunus, and addressed to the Resident District Commissioner, Bukwo District, confirms the recall.
“I am writing to inform you that, you are required to report back to the Headquarters due to the ongoing issues and developments in Bukwo District which require urgent attention and effective administrative handling,” the letter reads in part.
“It has been noted with concern that the situation in the District has spilled out of your control and in view of the prevailing circumstances therefore, you are hereby recalled to Headquarters with immediate effect. Accordingly, you are required to report to Headquarters tomorrow, Friday 28th August, 2026 without fail for further consultations and guidance,” the letter adds.
The letter further directs Mr. Owanyi to hand over the day-to-day responsibilities of the station to his Deputy Resident District Commissioner (DRDC), who shall take charge of the station until further communication.
