KOBOKO – The Office of the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Koboko has today launched a fight against corruption code-named “Kisanja No More Sleep” and “Corruption Must Be Kicked Out of Koboko.”
The operation was led by RDC Koboko, Mr. Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka, together with his two Assistant RDCs, Mr. Aloro Habib and Mr. Baguma Rashad.
The team launched the anti-corruption project at Koboko Hospital where three senior civil servants were arrested and handed over to police at Koboko Central Police Station.
According to the RDC’s office, by the time Mr. Hashaka and his team arrived at the hospital, three health workers who were supposed to be on duty in the Out-Patient Department (OPD) were absent.

Among those arrested and handed over to police are the Human Resource Officer of Koboko Hospital, Mr. Malish Wawason, the Senior Nursing Officer, Mr. Muzamir Charigo, and a 73-year-old retired assistant nurse.
Patients in the OPD complained that most of them had arrived as early as 6:00am but by afternoon had not yet been attended to.
The team from the RDC’s office found an old man identified as Ruba Bosco, aged 73, who retired 13 years ago, taking charge of the Out-Patient Department.
The old man said when he found nobody on duty, he decided to take charge.
The Senior Nursing Officer, Mr. Muzamir Chadrigo, and the Human Resource Officer, Mr. Malish Wawason, failed to account for the missing health staff.
Investigations are ongoing at Koboko Central Police Station.
