LIRA CITY TO HOST UHURU SICKLE CELL RUN ON OCTOBER 3.

LIRA CITY – Lira City is set to host the Uhuru Sickle Cell Run on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
The run, organized by the Catherine Phil Sickle Cell Support Initiative, is a movement to fight sickle cell disease in the Lango Sub-region.
Organisers say the run is being held under the theme “Run for Life, Run for Hope, Run Against Sickle Cell” with a call to “Leave No One Behind.”
Registration is ongoing. Participants are required to secure a running kit at Shs20,000 only.
