APAC RDC Andrew Onyuk encourages Community to Participate in the National Cleaning Day on Saturday 26 September 2026.

APAC — The l Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Apac, Andrew Onyuk has announced a community-wide cleaning exercise set to take place on Saturday 26th September 2026 from 7:00AM to 10:00AM in the entire District.
The initiative, part of the National Cleaning Day activities, aims to improve sanitation, unclog drainage channels, and promote public health across the vountry is always at tge last Saturday of every month.
Speaking to the media on Friday evening RDC Onyuk Andrew urged all residents, market vendors, local leaders, and community groups to turn out in large numbers to embrace the National Cleaning Day.
“We must work together to keep Apac clean. This is not just a government program, it is our collective responsibility as citizens,” he said.
The RDC emphasized that waste disposal and hygiene remain major challenges in many areas in the district.
“Local authorities have coordinated with sanitation officers in the diatrict and municipal council leaders to provide gloves, green dustbins, and waste collection trucks. We expect everyone — from shop owners to boda boda riders — to participate. Bring your brooms, sacks, hoes, and gloves,” he stated.
RDC Andrew Onyuk added that the exercise will be coordinated with sanitation monitors, health monitors, and environment officers, and communities at large.

The RDC noted that a clean environment prevents disease, protects children, and attracts more business to the market.
“A clean environment is our shared responsibility and a sign of a healthy community,” he said.
