CHAOS IN CHURCH: Prayer Disrupted at Abim All Saints CoU as LC2 Oyoo and Reverend Ongom Othii Clash.

ABIM– Karamoja–Sunday service at Abim All Saints Church of Uganda on the 27th Seotember 2026 turned chaotic after a disagreement between the Reverend and a local leader escalated into a physical altercation.
According to witnesses, trouble started during the announcement hour.
Rev. Ongom Richard Othii had called for anyone with an announcement to come forward. When the LC2 Chairperson of Awee Village, Mr. Oyoo Innocent, rose to give an announcement concerning the security situation in Abim Town Council, the Reverend reportedly rejected it.
What began as a verbal exchange quickly degenerated into a real fight, disrupting prayers for close to 30 minutes.
Mr. Owona Joseph, a member of Abim New Corner, said Wiawee LC2 chairman Oyoo Innocent had gone to the altar during announcement time, to anmounce matter of security nature but lator there was misunerstanding from Rev. Ongom leading to a heated quarrel and fight that almost divided the congregation for hours.
When contacted, Oyoo claimed the Reverend used his teeth to bite him on the back.
“I also gave the Reverend some terrible youthful blow that he will live to remember Rev. Ongom Richard could have been attacked by some rare satan during the service,” Oyoo said.
Another Christian from Yenglemi Ward called upon the Bishop of South Karamoja Diocese to suspend Rev. Ongom from service, accusing him of being emotional and sarcastic behaving in an emotional manner not worth of a serving Man of God.
Meanwhile, relatives of LC2 Oyoo Innocent from Wiawee, Angwee, Kiro, Kanu Atherder and Oriothiene villages in Abim District want the Reverend to apologize, failure of which they say they will take him to court on Monday.
Rev. Ongom Richard Otii was unavailable for comment by press time as his known phone number went unanswered.
Efforts to get an independent comment from the church leadership are still ongoing.
