LIRA CITY – The Lira Mayor’s Garden will on October 4, 2026 host a landmark gathering as the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) Lango Sub-region formally endorses Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba as their preferred candidate for President of Uganda.
The event is expected to draw leaders, cultural groups and community members from across Lango, all united in expressing confidence in Gen Muhoozi’s leadership vision.
According to organizers, the programme will feature speeches, cultural performances and symbolic presentations, highlighting PLU’s commitment to rallying behind a candidate they believe can bring renewed energy, stability and development to the country.
The upcoming ceremony carries deep significance for the Lango Sub-region, positioning it as a key voice in shaping Uganda’s political future.
Organizers said the endorsement at Lira Mayor’s Garden is not only a political declaration but also a celebration of identity, solidarity and grassroots mobilization.
