Erute North MP Ongom Patrick Aregedeng rubbished “Sleeping MP” Claims, Vowed Legal Action.

LIRA – The Erute North County Member of Parliament, Hon. Patrick Ongom Aregedeng, has dismissed as false and malicious, social media claims alleging that he sleeps during parliamentary sessions.
Hon. Aregedeng described the circulating video clips and photographs as doctored and fabricated propaganda by his political detractors who are bent on tarnishing his hard-earned reputation.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on Saturday, the vocal legislator said the smear campaign is being driven by political demagogues who have no development agenda for the people of Erute North.
“The social media posts being circulated are pure fabrication aimed at tarnishing my name and reputation. These are the works of political demagogues who have no substance to offer our people,” Hon. Aregedeng said.

The MP, who is widely known as one of the most vibrant, vocal and active legislators in the 12th Parliament, said his record on the floor of Parliament speaks for itself, with consistent advocacy for the development of Erute North and the greater Lango sub-region.

He attributed the falsehoods to political bitterness from the recently concluded elections, noting that supporters of candidates who failed are behind the coordinated attack on his image.
“The past election did not make some people happy since their candidates failed. Now, those whose candidates failed are the ones trying to tarnish my name through fabrication of information,” he noted.

Hon. Aregedeng, whose focus remains on service delivery and lifting his constituents to greater heights of development, warned those behind the misinformation to desist, saying he will not hesitate to take legal action once they are identified.
“I am warning them to stop tarnishing my name. Once I land on the perpetrators, I will take legal action against them,” he warned.
He called upon the people of Erute North to embrace unity and shun divisive politics, saying the election period is over and what is needed now is collective progress.
“Let us embrace unity because the election has already passed, but we still need one another as a community,” he urged.
He advised those with political ambitions to wait for the 2031 general elections and allow elected leaders to deliver on their mandate.
“Those who want to play politics should wait for 2031. For now, let them give time to those who are working,” he said.
Hon. Aregedeng reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people of Erute North with dedication and integrity.
