From Adeknino to Agwata: How MP Aguti’s Pine seedlings Project Is Chasing Poverty in Dokolo District.

BY OKIDI PATRICK
DOKOLO – Dokolo District Woman MP, Hon. Sarah Aguti Nyangkori, is letting her work speak louder than propaganda.
For the past weeks, seven Sub-Counties and town councils namely; Adeknino, Adok, Kangai Sub-county, Amwoma, Kangai Town Council, Agwata Town Council and Agwata Sub-county – have commmended Hon Aguti Nyangkori as hundreds of households received pine tree seedlings from the legislator.
It is the first time many families in the district are seeing such an intervention from a Member of Parliament after a long period of time compared to past leadership.

Addressing the media after the exercise, a confident Aguti said her leadership philosophy is simple: stay with the people.
“I will always be coordinating with my voters and be among them. I have a vision of chasing poverty and fighting the negative effects of climate change in Dokolo,” she said.
The MP described the pine seedlings as a future bank for families.
“These pines are for future wealth. My vision is to always be in touch with all my people,” she told the media.

She noted that although the second season rains expected in August came late and only little rain has been received so far this October, her team is using the exercise as an assessment to establish the acreage each household owns.
“If you have half an acre, ten hectares, get ready to be my beneficiary. I will still distribute thousands of pine seedlings to several household so long as you are in Dokolo District. Those who didn’t get will get in March next year,” she assured voters.
Hon Aguti said political fights should not derail development.
“Those who are in political fights and propaganda should not derail my developmental agenda. Those making propaganda and leave cheap politics that I will distribute chicken and goats should come to a common understanding. I am focused on what transforms lives,” she said.
And the people are noticing – even across party lines.
Etwop Thomas of Amun Amun village, a self-confessed strong NRM supporter, did not mince his words.
“I belong to NRM, but I appreciate Aguti of UPC. She is working for all the people, not UPC alone,” he said.
In Adeknino, Washington Odora could not hide his joy as he applauded the initiative, while a mother from Adeknino Sub-county said: “None of the MPs we have had has ever distributed seedlings. We are seeing this for the first time with Aguti.”
A servant of God from Adok Sub-county, Rev. Olya, summed it up: “There are people who are fighting but do not want to work. Now there is hope that Aguti will distribute several tree seedlings and change our lives.”
In a district where residents recently rebuked divisive politics, Hon. Aguti is emerging as a unifier – an MP who is accessible, present, and practical. Her message of wealth creation through tree planting is resonating deeply at a time when climate change is hitting Lango hard.
Hon Aguti pledged to reach every corner of Dokolo.
For Dokolo, it seems, the seed of transformation has already been planted and itvis none other than Hon Aguti Sarah Nyankori..
