Lira, Uganda – November 12, 2025: The North Kyoga region’s police leadership has undergone a significant change with the transfer of SSP Doka Rashid, who has been at the helm for the past ten months. His position as Regional Police Commander (RPC) has been officially filled by ACP Nganizi Wesley, marking a new chapter for the regional police force of North Kyoga.
The formal handover ceremony took place on Wednesday 12th, November, 2025 at the North Kyoga regional police headquarters in Erute, Lira city. SP Jimmy Patrick Okema, the North Kyoga police spokesperson, confirmed the transition to the media during a press briefing held on Monday at the same location.

SSP Doka Rashid, who assumed command in January of this year, will be moving on to a different assignment focused on peace support operations. During his tenure, SP Okema commended his efforts, noting accomplishments such as the successful fencing of police land at Erute and Ojwina, and the facelift and commissioning of the Oyam Health Centre II.
In addition to the RPC change, another significant transfer has been announced. The District Police Commander (DPC) of Lira City West Division, SP Edatu Cosmas, has been transferred to Kisoro district. He will be succeeded by SP Kashumbusha Ben, who will take over as the new DPC for Lira City West Division.
These personnel changes are part of a broader reshuffling within the police force aimed at strengthening operations and deploying personnel to areas of need. The new RPC, ACP Nganizi Wesley, is expected to build upon the existing foundation and lead the North Kyoga region’s police force in its ongoing mission to maintain law and order.
