LIRA CITY, UGANDA: At least 50 young entrepreneurs in Lira City are set to benefit from a free business forum aimed at equipping them with practical skills, market linkages and mentorship opportunities.
The Coordination Forum for Youth-Led Businesses will be held on August 18, 2026 at Happy Haven Children’s Park, opposite Adyel Division in Lira City West, from 8:00AM to 5:00PM.
The event is organized by GLOFORD Uganda in partnership with Plan International Uganda under the Safe and Inclusive Cities project.
Skills, markets and networking
According to Ms. Patricia Awor, the Youth Economic Empowerment Officer at GLOFORD Uganda, the forum will give young business owners a platform to learn, exhibit, sell and network.
“Participants will learn practical business skills, exhibit and showcase their products, services and innovations, and sell directly to potential customers,” Ms. Awor said.

She added that the forum will also connect youth with public and private sector institutions for access to financial, technical, mentorship, market and other business support services.
Call for early registration
Ms. Awor said participation is free but limited to the first 50 young entrepreneurs who register. Interested youth have been urged to register early by calling 0772 086 444.
The organizers say the initiative targets youth in Lira City who are running small businesses and innovations but lack access to markets, capital and business development services.
The forum is part of broader efforts to promote green jobs, youth economic empowerment and environmental protection under the Safe and Inclusive Cities and Green Future programs.
