Kioga Parliamentary Aspirant Dr. Ongia Issues Passionate Appeal for Unity, Urges Rivals to Embrace Issue-Based Politics.

AMOLATAR, Uganda – Colonel Dr. John Francis Ongia, an independent aspirant for the Kioga County parliamentary seat, has issued a powerful and morale-driven appeal for unity, calling on fellow leadership contenders in Amolatar to abandon divisive politics and focus exclusively on developmental agendas.
Citing the biblical invocation, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” (Psalm 133:1), Dr. Ongia asserted that internal strife is the single greatest barrier to progress in the district.
“Instead of fighting one another, people should come together for the common goal of development,” Ongia stated. He emphasized that infighting would neither “bring development to Amolatar nor put food on the table,” stressing that only collective action and unity could deliver tangible results for the community.
He urges a focus on actionable Agendas.
Dr. Ongia’s vision for Kioga, inspired by the principle that “Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour” (Ecclesiastes 4:9), is centered on issue-based politics and cooperative effort.
The aspirant urged his rivals to elevate the political discourse by presenting clear, actionable agendas rather than resorting to personal attacks. He positioned the upcoming election as a contest of policies and vision, not of character assassination.
“Let them present to voters a clear agenda and let the people decide on who they should elect,” Ongia challenged, advocating for a democratic process built on merit and achievable goals for the 2026-2031 political term.
While emphasizing the role of the media in fostering Peaceful election and unity he advised journalists and outlets to act as agents of peace and cohesion within the Amolatar community.

Cautioning against practices that disunite the public, such as the distortion of information and the spreading of propaganda, Dr. Ongia called for strict adherence to ethical standards. “I urge them to adhere to professionalism and the code of ethics,” he remarked, encouraging the press to use its influential platform to foster an informed and unified electorate.
Higher Standards for Leadership
In a directed message to those seeking office, Dr. Ongia advocated for a higher standard of political engagement, echoing the sentiment of perseverance: “Let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not” (Galatians 6:9).
He advised fellow contenders to “sell ideas rather than spreading propaganda and personal attacks.” According to the independent aspirant, the people of Amolatar deserve the opportunity to choose between clear, strategic visions for growth, rather than being subjected to divisive and unproductive campaigning.
As Amolatar prepares for a competitive election season, Dr. Ongia’s independent bid is firmly focused on achieving development through collective effort. His campaign’s motto, “NYONYO RABO NYONYO” (meaning ‘working together’ or ‘collective effort’ in Lango), encapsulates his ambition to bring the community together for the common goal of prosperity and progress.
