Agago Assistant RDC Bostify Calls for “Landslide Victory” for Museveni in 2026, Citing Peace and Development.
AGAGO, UGANDA – November 19, 2025 – The Assistant Resident District Commissioner (ARDC) for Agago district, Oweka John Bostify, has issued a fervent call to the populace of Agago and the broader Acholi Sub-region to cast their votes overwhelmingly in favor of President Yoweri Museveni in the upcoming 2026 general elections. Oweka asserted that the district owes its current state of peace and significant development to the President’s enduring leadership.
Speaking in a telephone interview with TAYARI NEWS UGANDA on Wednesday morning, Oweka expressed strong confidence in the electorate’s support for the incumbent president. “I’m sure the people of Agago will give President Museveni over 90 percent or more. I don’t see any reason why you shouldn’t vote for him. He has done everything you asked him to do in Agago,” Oweka stated firmly.
According to the Assistant RDC, President Museveni’s intervention has been pivotal in addressing critical security concerns, including cattle rustling and fostering peace along Agago’s border points. Oweka further highlighted President Museveni’s role in the profound transformation of the Acholi sub-region, shifting it from a war-torn zone to an area now characterized by peace and steady development, exemplified by initiatives like the Presidential Skilling Hub in Gulu.
“We must also thank President Museveni because he has developed the area through different projects and programs like PDM (Parish Development Model), Emyoga, UWEP (Uganda Women Entrepreneurship Programme), YLP (Youth Livelihood Programme) among others,” he added, outlining various government interventions.
Oweka commended all National Resistance Movement (NRM) supporters in Agago for their unwavering backing of President Museveni. He extended an appeal to opposition members within Agago district to also rally behind the President, describing NRM supporters as committed and dedicated “foot soldiers” representing the ruling party NRM in their respective sub-counties.
He also acknowledged significant contributions from other NRM figures in the region. “I also commend Minister Beatrice Akello Akori and all the NRM flag bearers of Agago district, plus all the Agago NRM Cadres and my boss, the RDC of Agago Nabbinson James Kidega, for the good mobilization. This is why we saw big crowds during President Museveni’s campaign rallies here in Agago,” Oweka remarked. He emphasized the importance of translating these large public turnouts into actual votes, urging efforts to “protect the gains.”
Oweka concluded by urging all citizens to vote for President Museveni on January 15, 2026, “without fear or favour.”
