
Kisoro Mourns the Passing of Ms. Nyirasimbagire Edisa, Beloved Paternal Aunt of RDC Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka.

Kisoro, Uganda – January 7, 2025: The Kisoro community is in mourning following the sad passing of Ms. Edisa, a respected elder and the only paternal aunt of Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Obongi District.
In a heartfelt announcement released today, RDC Hashaka confirmed the demise of his beloved aunt, expressing deep sorrow over the loss. “On a sad note, I announce the death of my only paternal aunt, Ms. Edisa,” he stated. “May her soul rest in peace.”

The funeral service and burial are scheduled to take place tomorrow, January 8, 2025, in Kisoro Municipality, Kisoro District, at precisely 1:00 PM. The event is expected to draw family, friends, local leaders, and members of the public who will gather to pay their last respects and offer condolences to the grieving family.
Ms. Edisa, whose full surname has not yet been disclosed, was known for her quiet strength, generosity, and deep-rooted connection to her family and community. As a matriarchal figure, she played a pivotal role in guiding and supporting her extended family, including her nephew, RDC Hashaka, who has served in several key government positions.
Colleagues and community leaders have begun extending their condolences. One of the family members described Ms. Edisa Nyirasimbagire as “a symbol of resilience and love,” adding that her passing leaves a profound void in the family and wider community.
RDC Hashaka, currently serving in Obongi District in the Northern Region of Uganda, is widely respected for his dedication to public service. The loss comes at a time when he continues to oversee critical development initiatives in one of the country’s emerging districts in West Nile a region.
As preparations for the burial proceed, security and health officials in Kisoro have advised mourners to observe all necessary protocols to ensure a peaceful and orderly gathering.
The family has expressed gratitude for the outpouring of sympathy and prayers received thus far.
Ms. Edisa will be laid to rest in her ancestral home in Kisoro, a district known for its scenic hills and rich cultural heritage. She is survived by her extended family and a legacy of compassion and family unity.
She was born on 10 May 1935and died on 05, January 2026.
