Alebtong Gears Up for Peaceful Local Government Elections on 4th February 2026.

ALEBTONG, UGANDA – 3 February 2026

Alebtong District is fully prepared for the upcoming elections in all 14 Lower Local Governments, scheduled for tomorrow, 4th February 2026. According to the Alebtong RDC Okiswa Geoffrey, the Electoral Commission (EC) has recieved and secure storage of voting materials, including the highly anticipated black boxes, ensuring a smooth electoral process.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Alebtong Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Mr. Okiswa Geoffrey, speaking on behalf of the District Security Committee (DSC), commended all candidates for maintaining peace and tolerance throughout the campaign period.

“I extend my gratitude to all political aspirants for conducting themselves in a peaceful manner during the campaigns,” said RDC Okiswa. “This spirit of mutual respect is crucial for the unity and progress of our district.”

With security measures fully in place, authorities are urging voters to turn out in large numbers and exercise their democratic rights without fear. The RDC emphasized the importance of a violence-free election, calling for continued cooperation from all stakeholders.

“We wish all candidates and voters a peaceful election day tomorrow,” he added.

As Alebtong residents prepare to cast their ballots, RDC assured the public for a peaceful, credible and orderly electoral process that will shape the future of local governance in the district.
