NRM Flags off 166 LC1 Aspirants in Gulu District as Party Targets Clean Aweep in July 28 Village Elections
AWACH, GULU— The National Resistance Movement [NRM] in Gulu District has flagged off 166 LC1 flag bearers ahead of the upcoming village council elections.
The event was held at the party offices in Awach Town Council.
Gulu District NRM Chairperson Christopher Ocen urged the candidates to mobilize voters at the grassroots. He expressed confidence that the party would win all LC1 chairperson positions in the district due to its strong support base.
Ocen also called on the flag bearers to protect the gains made under the NRM government and to promote wealth creation programmes at village level.
The meeting was attended by members of the District Executive Committee, councillors, sub-county chairpersons, historical leaders, and other party officials.
According to the Electoral Commission, LC1 elections will be held on July 28, 2026. Voting will be conducted using the lining-up method.
