Victim’s cloth reportedly caught on vehicle along Lira-Kamdini highway.

OYAM — One person died on the spot after a motorcycle collided with a fuel tanker in Acero Village, Agukurude Parish, Loro Town Council, along the Lira-Kamdini highway on Sunday, July 6, 2026.
The deceased was identified as Adong Priscilla, 19. Police say the crash occurred at about 1:40 p.m. involving motorcycle registration number UFT 793B and motor vehicle KBK 019Z/ZD 2038, a Mercedes Benz fuel tanker.
According to North Kyoga Region Police Spokesperson SP Patrick Jimmy Okema, both the motorcycle and the tanker were traveling in the same direction from Lira towards Kamdini.
“Upon reaching Loro, as the rider was in front of the vehicle riding on the extreme left, the fuel tanker bypassed the rider, hit the motorcycle on the side, and the rider and passenger fell off,” Okema said.
He added that “the cloth of the lady got stuck on the vehicle, pulling her under the vehicle which ran over her legs.”
Police visited the scene and conveyed the body to Anyeke Health Centre IV pending a postmortem examination. Both the motorcycle and the tanker were parked at Loro Police Station pending inspection by the Inspector of Vehicles .
The motorcycle rider was rushed to an unknown medical facility by well-wishers. The cause of the accident is yet to be established.
