Kwania Deputy RDC Aturu Abraham Commends the Ongoing construction of first DPP offices in Aduku Town council.
KWANIA — Construction of the first Resident State Attorney (RSA) / DPP offices in Kwania District has officially started in Aduku Town Council, which is expected to speed up prosecution of criminal cases in the district.
Deputy Resident District Commissioner Aturu Abraham confirmed to the media on Thursday evening, 9th July 2026, that works began on 1st July 2026 at Akaidebe Cell, Te-duka Ward, Aduku Town Council.
“They have started by raising the wall fence using 99 blocks. The construction is expected to take 6 months and will cost 450 Million Uganda shillings,” Deputy RDC Aturu said.
Since Kwania attained district status in 2018, it has had no resident state attorney and has been relying on the RSA’s office in Apac District. Officials say this caused delays in handling high-profile cases like murder, defilwment among others.
“Having our own DPP offices here means our people will no longer have to travel to Apac for prosecution services. Justice will be closer and faster,” Aturu added.
The 6-month project is being closely monitored by district leadership including the office of the RDC.
The new offices are part of government efforts to decentralize justice services and bring prosecution services closer to the people.
Kwania District has started constructing its first DPP offices in Aduku at a cost of Shs450m. The project, which began 1st July, will run for 6 months and is expected to end the district’s reliance on Apac for prosecutions.
