OBONGI – The Assistant Resident District Commissioner of Obongi, Mr. Obina Komakech, on Saturday represented the RDC’s office during the National Cleaning Day exercise.
Komakech was delegated by the Senior Resident District Commissioner, Ms. Eva Kwesiga.

“We were blessed to be joined by Hon. Joyo Harriat, the Woman Member of Parliament for Obongi District, who served as the Chief Cleaner and actively participated in the exercise,” Komakech said.
According to him, the exercise was successfully conducted across the district, with all sub-counties participating within their respective areas of jurisdiction.
He said it attracted a wide range of stakeholders, including local leaders, civil servants, business communities, boda boda riders, market vendors and other members of the community.

Komakech said the security team was also actively involved and was commanded by the Officer in Charge of the Police Station on behalf of the District Police Commander, ensuring a coordinated and peaceful exercise.
“I commend all the leaders, institutions, business communities and members of the public who participated in this important national exercise. The impressive turnout demonstrates that cleanliness is a shared responsibility and requires the collective effort of every stakeholder,” he said.
He urged residents to maintain the momentum and make cleanliness a daily practice.
“Clean Obongi, Healthy Community, Prosperous District!”
