Koboko RDC Gives Corrupt, Absentee Officials Two-Day Ultimatum.

KOBOKO – The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Koboko, Mr. Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka, has given all corrupt officials and those absconding from duty two days to stop the practice with immediate effect.
Mr. Hashaka made the remarks while opening a three-day joint annual review meeting of Yumbe Regional Referral Hospital at Blue Dove Hotel in Koboko Town.
He noted that absenteeism in some workplaces is high, leading to poor service delivery.
The RDC cited Koboko General Hospital, which has 150 staff, but when his office monitored the hospital on Tuesday, less than 40 staff were present, meaning more than 100 were absent.
He disclosed that he ordered the human resource officer to improvise and delegate staff to handle more than 200 patients who were stranded in the Out-Patient Department due to absenteeism of health workers.
“Under Kisanja Hakuna Kulala, I direct civil servants to avoid dodging work and those who are corrupt to also stop the bad practice,” Mr. Hashaka said.
He revealed that his office has started monitoring all district local government duty stations to ensure civil servants are on duty, warning that those found absent will be punished.
