LIRA – The Minister for Relief Disaster and Refugees who also doubles as the Member of Parliament for Erute South, Hon. Sam Engola, has praised a women’s group in Amitomot Village for successfully growing their business.
Engola met the progressive women’s group in Onywako Parish, Barr Sub-County, Erute South on Saturday to assess progress since he supported them to launch an events management initiative a few years ago.

He said he was encouraged to learn that the group has grown its business and is now generating meaningful income from the initial investment.
To help them scale further, Hon Sam Engola extended additional financial support to the group. In appreciation, the women gifted him a cow.
Engola urged women across villages to emulate the group by forming small associations and starting income-generating activities to fight household poverty.
“Both the government and well-wishers are always ready to empower those who are already working to eradicate poverty at the household level,” Engola said.
