RDC Komakech Warns Lamwo Teachers Against Absenteeism as Term III Opens.

LAMWO – The Resident District Commissioner for Lamwo District, Mr. William Komakech, has warned teachers against absenteeism, late-coming and extorting money from parents.
Mr. Komakech issued the warning on Saturday evening during an interview with this publication.
He said all head teachers and classroom teachers in Palabek and Lamwo counties must report early and remain present at their duty stations at all times to improve performance in line with the national education policy.
He urged local leaders to massively mobilize learners to return to school as Third Term begins on Monday, September 14, 2026.
Mr. Komakech said he will personally inspect schools in both counties and take action against practices that affect attendance and retention, including hiking fees in government-aided schools.
“We shall not be pleased to receive reports of parents keeping children at home instead of taking them to school,” he said.
He called for stronger cooperation between teachers, parents and the Lamwo District Local Government to improve service delivery.
Lamwo is among the districts in East Acholi affected by prolonged sunshine and possible hunger.
