Govt Builds Shs212m Classroom Block at Tukaliri Primary School in Koboko.

Koboko–Tukaliri Primary School in Lobule Sub-county, Koboko District, has received a new four-classroom block constructed with funding from the NRM government at a cost of over Shs212 million.
The classroom block was commissioned by the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Koboko, Mr Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka, in the company of the District Chairperson, Mr Mambu Asiraf, and the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer, Mr Herman Ejok.
Mr Ejok thanked the government for its continued role in improving the standard of education through funding for classroom construction, libraries, laboratories, payment of teachers’ salaries, UPE and USE capitation grants to all schools every term, and construction of latrines.
However, RDC Hashaka expressed concern over the poor academic performance at Tukaliri Primary School, noting that the school has failed to produce any first grade in the Primary Leaving Examinations for the past two academic years.
He warned teachers and parents to play a complementary role in improving academic performance at the school.
Mr Hashaka also raised concern over high absenteeism, revealing that only 556 pupils were present at the time of commissioning, yet the school has an enrolment of 1,220 pupils.
Meanwhile, the Koboko District Chairperson, Mr Mambu Asiraf, disclosed that more classrooms will be constructed in the district this financial year with funding from the central government.
