LIRA CITY – A strong supporter of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Mr Angola Peter Omiat, has celebrated the successful endorsement of the PLU National Chairman in Lango Sub-region, saying the entire sub-region has now spoken with one voice for the 2031 presidency.
Mr Angola Omiat fully participated in the October 4, 2026 endorsement held at Mayor’s Gardens in Lira City, where thousands of supporters from across Lango endorsed Gen Muhoozi.
Speaking to the media in an exclusive interview on Monday morning, Mr Omiat said he is happy that Lango now knows the legitimate regional PLU leadership, distinct from those who had been masquerading as coordinators.
“Lango has now come to know those who were duly appointed and those who appointed themselves into office as PLU coordinators and mobilizers,” Mr Omiat said.
He commended the legitimately appointed leaders, especially the Lango Sub-region Coordinator, Dr Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero, Mr Omara Makim Joe of Amolatar and Mr Ojok Oyite Emmanuel of Oyam.
Mr Omiat, one of the dedicated foot soldiers who has stood with the movement since its early days, said the struggle is in every district because the real foot soldiers who built the movement on the ground seem to have been forgotten in Lango.
He appealed to the PLU Secretariat and the Secretary General to be vigilant on appointments to ensure that loyal foot soldiers are remembered and recognised.
“There are those who came yesterday, appointed themselves into office and now want to overtake everything,” he said.
Mr Omiat reaffirmed his loyalty to the movement, saying:
“Long live Gen MK, Long live President Museveni, Long live PLU. I say this for God and my country.”
