Hon Daudi Kabanda, who represenred PLU chairman, urged the people of Lango to rally behind Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba as a potential successor to President Yoweri Museveni, saying Uganda needs leadership with a strong national outlook.

Mr Kabanda challenged Ugandans to support leaders with national appeal rather than those whose influence is limited to particular regions.
The Minister for Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugees, Hon Sam Engola, said corruption remains a major setback to development as funds meant for service delivery are diverted for personal benefit, adding that Gen. Kainerugaba is best placed to fight corruption since he is not new to security matters of the country.
Mr Engola also said some of the pioneers who welcomed Hon. Balaam Barugahara during the initial launch of the MK Movement in Lango such as Rolex Akena Ogwal, Walter Ebong, Peter Okello Oyoo, Mustafa Okodi and Tom Alex Ogwal have been forgotten in Lango.

The NRM Vice Chairperson for Northern Uganda, Hon Denis Hamson Obua, said NRM and PLU are together.
