DOKOLO –Several supporters and leaders in Ayuni Ward, Kangai Town Council, Dokolo District, have rejected tree seedlings being distributed by the Dokolo District Woman Member of Parliament, Hon Sarah Aguti Nyankori, saying the donation came at the wrong time as the dry season approaches.
The leaders, who were over 50 selected UPC delegates mobilised to meet WMP Nyankori, said they had expected goats instead of tree seedlings, claiming that MP Aguti had previously pledged to support them with livestock espicially goats but she seems to be fearing the cost.
Mr Otim, the UPC chairperson of Ayuni Cell in Ayuni Ward, said the delegates had been informed that the legislator wanted to meet some representatives from different villages.
However, they were surprised to learn upon their arrival that Hon Aguti had instead sent her Dokolo South political coordinator, Mr Bonny Anok, to distribute 15 pine tree seedlings to each selected delegate.
He said the delegates rejected the seedlings because they considered the timing unsuitable, given the approaching dry season, and maintained that they had expected livestock.

Other UPC leaders expressed disappointment, arguing that they had supported Ms Aguti during two election campaigns, including a by-election and the 2026 general election, but had not received the assistance they expected.

“This time we shall support NRM not a lousy leader,” one of the delegates said.
Mr Bonny Ongura, the UPC chairperson of Ayuni Ward, confirmed that he had been tasked with mobilising about 50 delegates for the meeting.
Mr Ongura said the delegates were unhappy to discover that the planned engagement involved receiving tree seedlings rather than the livestock they claimed had been promised.
He questioned the monetary value of the donation, estimating that 15 seedlings were worth approximately Shs5,000 per person.
However, Mr Anok defended the distribution exercise, saying Ms Aguti had started giving 15 tree seedlings to selected beneficiaries across different villages in Dokolo District as part of an environmental initiative.
Mr Anok confirmed that the exercise had covered Kangai Sub-county and Kangai Town Council on Tuesday, but acknowledged that some people in Ayuni Ward had rejected the seedlings.
He dismissed claims that the seedlings were intended as a reward for mobilising votes, describing the initiative as a development programme open to the community.
Mr Anok urged residents to embrace development initiatives introduced by their leaders rather than criticising them.
When contacted, Ms Aguti did not pick our repeateda phone calls.
Political analysts predict that WMP Aguti may not go back to the 13th parliament if she continue to persue empty promise to her political agents and voters of Dokolo District come 2031.
