KOBOKO – The Office of the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Koboko has recovered over Shs20 million from civil servants who illegally benefited from the Parish Development Model (PDM) funds.
This follows a directive by the RDC Koboko, Mr. Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka, to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to interdict all civil servants who illegally received PDM money in the district.
Mr. Hashaka also wrote to the District Police Commander (DPC) and the Officer in Charge of Criminal Investigations (OC CID) to arrest all implicated civil servants.
During a meeting for PDM leaders attended by the District Chairperson, Mr. Mambu Asiraf, CAO Nicholas Ogwang, Deputy RDC Marijani Walire, and Assistant RDCs Habib Aloro and Rashid Baguma, it was resolved that all civil servants who received PDM funds be interdicted and arrested immediately.
Under the PDM guidelines, the funds are meant for the poorest of the poor, and civil servants are not eligible to benefit.
The RDC’s office also used the media to warn civil servants who had received PDM money.

So far, CAO Ogwang Nicholas has interdicted more than ten civil servants who illegally received the funds. Within one week, over Shs20 million has been recovered.
RDC Hashaka disclosed that all recovered funds have been deposited in the Wendi account and will be transferred to the respective PDM SACCOs.
He warned civil servants who have not yet refunded the money that they will be arrested, charged, imprisoned and dismissed from service, giving them a one-week grace period to comply.
Hashaka further disclosed that he has established a special desk in the RDC’s office headed by Assistant RDC Habib Aloro to fast-track the recovery of the money from the civil servants.
