Early Christmas in Alebtong as Independent MP Achen Christine Ayoo Predicts Landslide Victory, NRM Publicity Okeng Backs Bid
ALEBTONG, UGANDA– November 15, 2025:Independent parliamentary candidate Achen Christine Ayoo has declared her re-election campaign in Alebtong District, assuring supporters she will clinch victory with over 80% of the vote in the upcoming 2026 general elections.

Speaking at a massive public rally held on 14th, November, 2025, at Otweotoke in Akura sub-county, Ms. Ayoo confidently told a crowd of over 2,000 attendees that the impending win felt like “Early Christmas” for the people of Alebtong, asserting that no rival would prevent her from reclaiming her seat.
The rally, which saw independent fervor amplified by strong verbal attacks on opponents, was particularly notable for the endorsement given by a prominent official from the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party.
Hon.Achen Ayoo, while presenting a clear manifesto to the electorate, emphasized her commitment to serving the constituents diligently. She pledged to utilize her non-sitting time, especially weekends and parliamentary recesses, to engage directly with the people.

Recalling her previous tenure as Woman MP, she reminded the voters she had distributed essential tools like hoes across the district. Looking ahead, she promised to distribute free seedlings throughout Alebtong and urged the electorate to “send a mature woman” to the 12th parliament of Uganda.
During the rally, Christine Achen Ayoo introduced several family members, demonstrating her deep connection to the community, and was accompanied by key local political figures including Imat Rose, Dauda Akira, Imat Jane Abura, and Ocen Polo of Awei.
Okullo Okeng an NRM publicity secretary for Alebtong District defended her Independent candidature for 2026-2031.
Adding significant political drama to the event, Mr. Okullo Okeng, the NRM Publicity Secretary for Alebtong District, publicly endorsed the independent candidate. Okeng dismissed fears of political intimidation, assuring the crowd that no one would silence him for supporting Ms. Ayoo.
Mr.Okullu Okeng launched a blistering critique of rival candidates, questioning their political relevance and financial integrity.

“Some candidates have been married otger district and hence are no longer a political material in Alebtong district,” Okeng stated, demanding that all female candidates declare the names of their husbands and present them to the people of Alebtong before being voted in.
He further accused certain opponents of compromising the district’s representation through financial hardship. “Other candidates have borrowed loans and have mortgaged the votes of Alebtong to be attached to the bank loan,” he alleged.
Okeng also addressed what he termed as common voter frustrations, noting that many candidates no longer answer phone calls from their constituents, which he referred to dismissively as “useless” calls. He urged the voters to support the committed candidate, Achen Ayoo.
Challenging the Primary Results
Ms. Ayoo also took aim at the NRM flag bearer, stating that the primary election process was neither free nor fair. She urged voters to shun the designated Woman MP flag bearer and vote overwhelmingly for her, emphasizing that her independence was borne out of a flawed party process.
Ms. Ayoo’s confidence in attaining a majority stretching beyond 70-80% builds upon assurances made earlier in the campaign, notably during an outreach event in Akura sub-county on Friday, November 14, 2025.
