Local Radio Poll Puts Otto Kenneth Ahead in Tightly Contested Agago North MP Race.
AGAGO NORTH, UGANDA —In the earliest indication of voter sentiment ahead of the 2026 general elections, a public opinion sampling exercise conducted by one of the local radio stations in Agago District has ranked aspirant Otto Kenneth “Remo Malyet” as the leading contender among potential parliamentary aspirants.
The ranking, based on public calls and feedback sampled by Agago-based radio outlets, places Mr. Remo Malyet firmly in the number one position, signaling an early advantage in the race for the Agago North Parliamentary seat.

The results, however, underscore a highly competitive field. NRM flag bearer and the incumbent MP Amos John Okot and Omenya Geoffrey secured the second and third spots, respectively, separated from each other and Mr. Malyet by a notably tight margin.
The early poll suggests that while Mr. Malyet may hold a narrow lead, the contest remains fluid, with three main aspirants clustered closely together at the top of voter preference.

Malyet Attributes Lead to Vibrancy and Changing Trends
Contacted by this publication regarding the poll results, Otto Kenneth Remo Malyet expressed strong optimism, noting that the political landscape in Agago North is rapidly evolving, a trend he believes favors his campaign.
Mr. Malyet specifically attributed his early success to perceived vibrancy and strong grassroots mobilization.
“The trend of election is gradually changing in Agago North constituency,” Mr. Malyet stated. He recounted recent outreach efforts, highlighting the assured support he received in key sub-counties.
“When I reached Lapono sub-county, the people of Lapono assured me of a landslide victory because of being vibrant,” he asserted.

Mr. Malyet further pointed to growing support in urban and local council areas, where mobilization efforts are intensifying well ahead of the official election period.
“The same thing I am witnessing in LKalonhontown council where many people are mobilizing for me in hundreds and thousands ahead of the 2026 general election,” he added, indicating that the base building efforts are already yielding significant numerical buy-in.
While these radio polls represent only an early snapshot of public sentiment sampled via local media, the results provide a crucial initial benchmark in what is shaping up to be a compelling parliamentary contest in Agago North among top aspirants namely “Kenneth Otto Remo Malyet”, Amos John Okot, and Omenya plus other candidates.
