Obongi Residents Laud MP Maneno, NRM Government as Historic Kochi Bridge Nears Completion.

Obongi District – Residents of Itula subcounty in Obongi district have expressed profound gratitude to the Woman Member of Parliament for Obongi, Hon. Zumura Maneno, and the NRM government, as the UGX 4 billion Kochi bridge connecting Obongi to Yumbe district rapidly approaches completion. The residents specifically thanked Hon. Maneno, who also serves as the chairperson of the Obongi district roads committee, for her diligent oversight in ensuring the project’s progress.
The appreciation was voiced during a monitoring visit to the Kochi bridge, located in Kochi Boma village. Hon. Zumura Maneno led a high-level delegation that included area MP Hon. Dr. Bhoka George Didi, Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka, Secretary for Works Azubu Micheal, Acting Deputy Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Anthony Odda, Acting District Engineer Musafir Ibrahim, and representatives from UNHCR.
Gathered at the construction site, residents highlighted the historical significance of the bridge, noting that once completed, it will establish a direct connection between Obongi and Yumbe districts for the first time ever. The enthusiastic crowd chanted slogans praising President Yoweri Museveni, Hon. Zumura Maneno, Hon. Dr. Bhoka George Didi, District Chairperson Abibu Buga, NRM flag bearers, and the NRM government for fulfilling its manifesto promises by allocating funds for such crucial infrastructure projects.
Addressing the jubilant residents, Hon. Zumura Maneno underscored that the Kochi bridge stands as one of the many significant achievements of the NRM government, which the people of Obongi are encouraged to cherish and protect. The bridge is expected to significantly boost trade, connectivity, and social services between the two districts.
The RDC of Obongi Mr.Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka, assured the people of Obongi that all the pledges by President Museveni will be fulfilled and advised them to again vote President Yoweri Museveni and other NRM flag bearers because they are the creators of Obongi district and therefore know how to handle it.
