Head Teacher Arrested over Embezzlement Case at Olipa Primary School, Kole District.
Kole, Uganda – November 21, 2025 – The Territorial Police in Kole District are actively investigating a significant case of embezzlement, culminating in the arrest of the embattled head teacher. The incident, which allegedly occurred at Olipa Primary School in Alito Sub-county, Kole District, involved the disappearance of over UGX 10 million from the school’s bank account.
The report was officially lodged on October 15, 2025, at 3:35 PM by Mr. Omara James Leo, a 29-year-old male and the Chairperson of the School Management Committee (SMC) for Olipa Primary School. Mr. Omara, a resident of Olipa Village, Ot-Kwach Parish, Alito Sub-county, stated that the school’s head teacher, Mr. Atim Simon Peter, a 53-year-old male residing in Agweng Cell, Western Ward A, Bala Town Council, had withdrawn a substantial sum of money and subsequently vanished.
According to preliminary police findings, a sum of UGX 10,243,333 was deposited into the Olipa Primary School’s account at Stanbic Bank, Lira Branch (Account Number 9030002936339) on September 22, 2025. The alleged embezzlement took place on October 2, 2025, during a staff meeting. It is reported that Mr. Atim Simon Peter withdrew UGX 10,200,000 from the account, funds designated for various school activities. Following the withdrawal, the head teacher reportedly disappeared.
After a period of being at large, Mr. Atim Simon Peter was apprehended by authorities on November 20, 2025, and is currently in police custody. A case of embezzlement has been officially registered under the relevant references as the headteacher
In a statement issued by SP Patrick Jimmy Okema ,Public Relations Officer North Kyoga Region, the police have confirmed that statements from concerned parties involved in the case have been recorded and attached to the case file. Inquiries into the full circumstances surrounding the alleged embezzlement are ongoing as the investigation progresses.
