By Okidi Patrick Tekoo Village ‘Jogs’ Towards Block Vote for Kenneth Okot in Kilak North Election Bid
AMURU, Uganda – The political temperature in Amuru District’s Kilak North county is visibly rising, with residents of Tekoo village in Pukumu Parish, Opara sub-county, reportedly mobilizing to deliver a “block vote” for Hon. Okot Kenneth in the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for January 15, 2026.
During a recent campaign rally aimed at unseating the incumbent MP, Hon. Akol Anthony, Okot Kenneth passionately articulated his vision for the constituency. He particularly emphasized the crucial “spirit of togetherness” among the people and vowed to relentlessly advocate for comprehensive compensation for the victims of the Atiak massacre, a long-standing grievance in the region.

Okot also strategically aligned himself with the national leadership, extending his gratitude to H.E. the President for his consistent messages on peace and wealth creation. He strongly urged the electorate in Amuru District to vote for both President Museveni and himself, while fiercely criticizing his opponent, Anthony Akol, whom he accused of being “incompetent and selfish,” unfit to represent the people.
Outlining his legislative agenda, Kenneth pledged that, if elected, he would prioritize lobbying for critical infrastructure development, including “good roads.” He further promised to secure scholarships for deserving students and advocate for accessible Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) schemes to empower local communities economically.
As the January 2026 election draws closer, the political landscape in Kilak North county appears to be intensifying, with Okot Kenneth’s campaign gaining visible momentum from communities like Tekoo village, signaling a challenging race ahead for the incumbent.
