By Okidi Patrick
SERERE, UGANDA – December 10, 2025– The National Resistance Movement (NRM) structures in Kateta Sub County are set to host a dynamic community engagement event today, featuring a high-profile interaction with Abeku Hellen Adoa, a key figure in the party’s local leadership and a declared candidate for Woman Member of Parliament (MP) in the 2026 elections.
Scheduled to kick off at 10:00 AM at the vibrant Ocaapa Market, the event will provide residents with an opportunity to connect directly with Hellen Adoa, discuss community development priorities, and capture memorable photos. By 11:00 AM, the team will move to the Olagara Center, followed by visits to Okodo, Kateta, and Omagara, where Adoa will engage with NRM members and grassroots supporters.
“Come as we grow and develop our party,” the NRM has urged, emphasizing the need for active participation from its structures and the broader community. The event underscores the party’s commitment to fostering strong ties with constituents while rallying support for its 2026 parliamentary slate.
Adoa, who has been vocal about her aspirations to serve as Woman MP for Serere District, stressed that the interactive sessions aim to “listen to the people’s hopes and challenges” as the NRM works to secure funding for local projects and infrastructure expansion. “Our goal is to ensure that every voice is heard as we chart a path for progress in this sub county,” she stated.
This outreach follows a broader NRM campaign in the region to strengthen political structures and mobilize support for the polls. Adoa, who has been active in local governance and development initiatives, has emerged as a prominent advocate for women’s representation and youth empowerment in rural areas.
Campaigners and party officials have highlighted the importance of these engagements in a competitive political landscape, where grassroots visibility and public interaction are critical for candidates aiming to secure a mandate. Adoa’s bid for the Woman MP slot is seen as a key component of the NRM’s strategy to consolidate its position in Serere District.
As part of the event, the NRM is also calling for increased collaboration between party structures and community leaders to address challenges such as poverty, healthcare access, and education. The funding secured by Adoa for infrastructure projects, they argue, will play a pivotal role in translating political promises into tangible results.
Residents are being encouraged to attend the sessions, with Adoa’s campaign team reminding them, “Don’t be left out. This is your chance to shape the future of our sub county and party.”
The day’s itinerary promises to be a vibrant showcase of the NRM’s local presence, with participants set to enjoy not only policy discussions but also cultural moments and photo opportunities.
Vote Abeku Hellen Adoa for Woman MP, Serere District, 2026–2031.
