King James Comprehensive School Acquires New School Bus, Sets Example for Transport Safety.
LIRA CITY ,UGANDA-11th, December 2025: Lira City’s King James Comprehensive School has taken a significant step toward enhancing student and staff transportation by acquiring a brand-new school bus, marking a milestone in its commitment to modernizing infrastructure. Director Dickson Odongo confirmed the development during an exclusive interview with TAYARI NEWS UGANDA on Thursday afternoon.

The introduction of the bus aims to streamline travel for students and staff, reducing reliance on unregulated or commercial vehicles, which Odongo described as a growing safety concern. “This milestone is the result of the commitment by teachers and the school administration,” he stated, urging other educational institutions to follow King James’ lead. “It’s high time we prioritize students’ safety by moving away from using DMC [likely referring to third-party or unverified transport providers] for their commute.”

Known for its unwavering academic excellence for years, King James Comprehensive School has attracted a growing number of parents seeking quality education. Odongo commended the collaborative efforts of teachers, students, and parents for the school’s success. He highlighted the timely payment of school fees and the community’s unwavering support as critical factors in achieving this progress.

“In our pursuit of excellence, modernizing our transport system and integrating technology are vital,” Odongo said. He emphasized that the school’s achievements reflect a broader vision of adapting to Uganda’s evolving education landscape.
While crediting the staff and students for their dedication, Odongo also acknowledged the contributions of a key figure—Board of Directors, Headteacher among others, as instrumental to the school’s progress.
Director King James’ initiative is expected to inspire other schools to adopt safer, more organized transportation solutions, aligning with national calls to improve student welfare and infrastructure across Ugandan schools.

As the new bus hits the roads, the school administration, nearby community remains focused on bridging the gap between tradition and innovation, ensuring a brighter and safer future for learners in the school.
