According to a statement from the Territorial Police, the victim, 47-year-old Aceng Lucy, a peasant farmer, was allegedly murdered by her nephew, 23-year-old Ejura Dickens, at their family homestead. The suspect had reportedly been angry with the deceased over allegations that he had raped his cousin sister, which Aceng Lucy had shared with the community.
The events unfolded on the evening of December 10, when Ejura Dickens allegedly woke up his grandmother, Abodo Siliberia, and told her that he had “prepared a house where Aceng Lucy would stay forever” before fleeing the scene.
