Lango Paramount Chief HH Eng.Dr.Micheal Moses Odongo Okune Mourns the Passing of Hudson Ocen.

Kampala, Uganda – The Office of the Executive Secretary of the Won Nyaci of Lango Cultural Institution has announced the sudden passing of Hudson Ocen, a member of the Won Nyaci Protocol, on Saturday, January 31, 2026. Ocen, a grandson of the late HRH Yocam Odur Ebii, Won Nyaci Emeritus, was a dedicated public servant who worked with the Ministry of Works and Transport since 2012.
According to the institution, Ocen was handed over to the current Won Nyaci, HH Eng Dr Michael Moses Odongo Okune, as a young man to be looked after as a guardian. His passing has sent shockwaves throughout the Lango community, with many paying tribute to his dedication and service.

A tentative program has been released for the funeral arrangements, which will take place over the next few days. On Tuesday, February 3, a meeting will be held in Matugga at 6:00 pm to make arrangements for the funeral. On Thursday, February 5, a funeral service will be held at Deliverance Church in Nsambya at 9:00 am, followed by a vigil in Matugga. The body will then be taken to Teboke, Ocen’s hometown, for another vigil on Friday, February 6.
The final funeral service and burial ceremony will take place on Saturday, February 7, starting at 10:00 am at Teboke.
