Wisdom High School Celebrates Exceptional UCE 2025 Results
Kole, Uganda – February 17, 2026 – Wisdom High School, located in Akalo Town Council, Kole District, has celebrated an outstanding results for its 247 candidates in the recently released Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations, with the school reporting a 100% pass rate.
Speaking to the media following the official release of results by the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB), the School Director, Mr. Ogwal Ambrose, described the performance as “exceptional.”
“We are very happy with the results of our UCE Candidates who sat in 2025. The results have been good. All the students passed and not only passing, they excelled,” Mr. Ogwal stated.
The breakdown of grades revealed a good performance : 97 candidates scored A’s, 1,099 B’s, and 1,217 C’s across subjects, with only a minimal number of lower grades recorded.
Mr. Ogwal highlighted that under the new competency-based curriculum, mere promotion is the minimum expectation. “Passing is no longer something to be proud of under the new curriculum,” he noted. “Our motto is ‘Wisdom for Excellence,’ and we are happy that our students have truly excelled.”
Science as a Cornerstone of Success:
A key factor in the school’s success, according to the Director, is its heavy investment in science education. Science subjects—Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics—were identified as the best-performing disciplines.
The school’s modern science laboratory, is well equipped and spacious,” is central to this strategy. “Science today cannot be taught theoretically alone; it must be practical,” Mr. Ogwal emphasized.
This hands-on approach is supported by a strengthened Information and Communication Technology (ICT) department. A new ICT facility houses 120 additional computers with functional internet, allowing students to conduct research using school or personal devices, backed by a well-stocked library.
Practical learning extends beyond labs; each class manages its own garden for tree planting and vegetable cultivation, enhancing agricultural skills. The school also employs full-time science teachers supported by facilitation allowances to ensure effective practical sessions.
Compared to 2024, when 148 candidates sat for the exam under the new curriculum, both the candidate number and overall performance metrics have improved. While the school noted a slight decline in one specific performance indicator, Mr. Ogwal confirmed the overall average remains higher than last year’s results.
Notably, female students slightly outnumbered male candidates by seven, reflecting a near-even gender balance among the high achiever.
The school leadership pledged continued commitment to implementing the new curriculum and maintaining rigorous academic standards. They expressed optimism that Wisdom High School will remain a leading academic center in the region, building on a foundation that blends traditional excellence with modern, competency-focused education.
