
Lira Town College Headteacher Donates Science Textbooks Worth Shs1.9 Million.

LIRA CITY, UGANDA—March 30, 2026: The headteacher of Lira Town College, Mr Abongo Levi, has donated A-Level science textbooks worth Shs1.9 million to boost learning at the school.
The textbooks, sourced through his collaboration with” Turn the Page Uganda”, will be kept in the school library to support students, particularly those pursuing science subjects.
Speaking during the donation on Monday, Mr Abongo urged the community to take an active role in supporting learners, especially young scientists.
“Please, let us continue to support our young scientists,” he said.
Mr Abongo noted that the donation is part of an ongoing collaboration with Turn the Page Uganda, which has been supporting the school with learning materials.
His contribution was praised by members of the community within Lira city and beyond, including Mr Etwop Jek, who commended the headteacher for his commitment to improving education standards at the school.
“He has made an excellent contribution towards the academic development of the learners,” Mr Etwop Jek said.
A Senior Six student, who preferred to remain anonymous, described Mr Abongo as a dedicated and supportive leader.
“He is a vibrant and kind headteacher who is making wonderful initiatives and developments in the school,” the student said.
The donation is expected to boost science education at Lira Town College and enhance students’ access to essential learning materials.
