KAMPALA, UGANDA — The General Secretary of the National Youth Council (NYC) was on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, officially recognized by the Government for outstanding national leadership and youth transformation over the last five years.
The high-profile meritorious award was presented by the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development through the National Secretariat of Special Interest Groups at a colorful ceremony held in Kampala.
Five Years of Impact:
The accolade underscores a half-decade of dedicated, high-impact coordination and service at the helm of the national youth legislative and administrative organ.
While receiving the award, Hon.Otto Wilson who doubles as the incoming Agago LC5 Chairman/the General Secretary noted that the state recognition is not merely a personal milestone, but a powerful validation of a collective struggle to bring meaningful transformation to Ugandan youth.
“This achievement strengthens my commitment to hardworking, dedicated, and transformative leadership,” the NYC scribe stated shortly after receiving the plaque from ministry officials.

Eyes on Agago District
With the current political cycle pacing forward, the decorated youth leader used the national platform to renew a firm development pledge to the people of Agago District and Northern Uganda as a whole, specifically mapping out grassroots development for Agago District over the next five years.
“I remain fully committed to serving the people of Agago District and Uganda with even greater passion in the next five years ahead. Thank you for your unwavering trust and support,” the leader declared.
Ministry of Gender officials present at the function lauded the National Youth Council leadership for maintaining institutional stability, championing youth mindset change, and actively tracking the rollout of key government wealth creation programs tailored for special interest groups across the country.
