KAMPALA — Agago County Member of Parliament, Hon. Barrister Edward Makmot Otto, has formally conceded from the high-stakes Deputy Speakership race, throwing his full weight behind the newly chosen party consensus candidates ahead of tomorrow’s final parliamentary vote.
In an emotional and unifying concession message released on Sunday evening, the elite international jurist thanked his supporters and congratulated his colleagues who emerged victorious following the decisive National Resistance Movement (NRM) Central Executive Committee (CEC) consensus meetings chaired by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at State House Entebbe.

Otto, who had built a powerful campaign anchored on maturity, legal pedigree, and regional balancing, highly praised the party leadership for steering a transparent and harmonious selection process.
