The legitimate President of UPC, Adim Denis Enap, visited the Office of the PLU Chairman, where he met with Hon. Michael Mawanda and pledged to work hand in hand with the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) in support of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s vision.
During his visit, he pledged to build a strong working relationship with PLU, noting that both UPC and PLU share common goals of fighting corruption, promoting patriotism, and advancing Uganda’s socio-economic transformation.
Addressing the media at the PLU Chairman’s Office, Adim Enap maintained that Jimmy Akena is not the legitimate President of UPC and accused him of relying on propaganda while holding the office illegitimately. He described PLU as a new force dedicated to serving the interests of Ugandans, strengthening national unity, and promoting the national interest rather than individual interests.
In his response, Hon. Michael Mawanda, on behalf of Gen. MK, pledged that PLU would work hand in hand with UPC as a friendly partner committed to uniting Ugandans and advancing the country’s development.

Muhoozi’s vision.The factional President of the Uganda People’s Congress, Mr. Adim Denis Enap, has pledged to work closely with the Patriotic League of Uganda in advancing what he described as shared goals of fighting corruption, promoting patriotism, and driving national development.
Mr. Adim made the commitment on Wednesday during a visit to the Office of the PLU Chairman, where he met Hon. Michael Mawanda.
According to Mr. Adim, both UPC and PLU are aligned in the pursuit of Uganda’s socio-economic transformation.
“We are here to build a strong working relationship with PLU. Our two institutions share a common vision of serving Ugandans, fighting corruption, and promoting unity and patriotism,” Mr. Adim told journalists.
He further questioned the legitimacy of Mr. Jimmy Akena’s leadership of UPC, accusing him of relying on “propaganda” and holding the office “illegitimately.”
Mr. Adim described PLU as “a new force dedicated to serving the interests of Ugandans, strengthening national unity, and promoting the national interest rather than individual interests.”
In response, Hon. Mawanda, speaking on behalf of PLU Chief Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, said PLU was ready to partner with UPC as a friendly political force.
“PLU is committed to uniting Ugandans and advancing the country’s development. We welcome cooperation with UPC and other like-minded formations,” Hon. Mawanda said.
The meeting signals growing political interactions between PLU and opposition-leaning formations ahead of the 2026 general elections.

Mr. Adim reaffirmed that UPC under his leadership stands for service to the people, and welcomed PLU as a partner committed to putting Uganda first.
Hon. Mawanda, on behalf of Gen. MK, pledged PLU’s readiness to cooperate with UPC in uniting Ugandans and delivering development for all.
