OBONGI, UGANDA: WN-CARD has donated essential infection prevention and control supplies to Obongi District to support the District Ebola Task Force response plan.
The items were handed over on recently in the presence of Komakech Robert Obina, the Assistant Resident District Commissioner(ARDC), who represented Mr. Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) and Chairperson of the District Ebola Task Force.
The donation included hand sanitizers, Jik, hand-washing facilities, gum boots and liquid soap. District officials say the supplies will strengthen hygiene and infection prevention measures across health facilities and communities.
The handover was witnessed by the District Vice Chairperson, the Assistant District Health Officer, representatives from the CAO’s Office, the Chairperson of the Council Social Services Committee, and other district officials.
Mr. Komakech appreciated WN-CARD for the timely support and called upon stakeholders, communities and implementing partners to continue working closely with the District Ebola Task Force.
“Together, we can protect our communities and stop Ebola,” Komakech said.
Obongi is among the districts on high alert following recent Ebola alerts in neighboring areas, with authorities stepping up surveillance, risk communication and IPC measures.
