MALAWI-AFRICA: Uganda is among African countries represented at the 55th CPA Africa Region Conference and Annual General Meeting underway in Malawi, with focus on renewing the relationship between citizens and public institutions.
The third day of the conference is being held under the theme: “Renewing the Social Contracts as a Catalyst for Inclusive Growth and Citizen Trust.”
Focus on governance and inclusion:
Delegates from across the continent are reflecting on how parliaments can strengthen accountability, promote inclusive development, and restore public confidence in government institutions.
The meeting provides a platform for parliamentarians, stakeholders, and development partners to discuss strategies for building stronger social contracts and ensuring that growth benefits all citizens.
Uganda Fully represented:
Hon. Bernard Otim Odoch the maruzi North MP is among those representing Uganda at the conference. He is actively participating in discussions aimed at shaping stronger social contracts, restoring citizen confidence, and fostering inclusive growth in Africa.
The CPA Africa Region Conference brings together legislators to share best practices on legislation, oversight, and representation, with the goal of deepening democracy and development on the continent.
The 55th meeting is expected to come up with resolutions to guide parliaments on citizen engagement, service delivery, and inclusive policy making.
