Minister Sam Engola rallies African beekeepers at Apimondia conference

KAMPALA – The Minister for Disaster Preparedness, Relief and Refugees, Hon. Sam Engola, has emphasized the role of beekeeping in environmental conservation, climate resilience and livelihoods.
Hon. Engola made the remarks yesterday while addressing delegates at the 4th African Apimondia Symposium and Conference held at Hotel Africana in Kampala.

The conference brought together participants from various companies, organizations and stakeholders within the apiculture sector across Africa and beyond.
He engaged the delegates on the importance of strengthening collaboration among government, the private sector, development partners, researchers and beekeepers to unlock the full potential of Africa’s beekeeping industry.
According to the organizers, the symposium provides an important platform for sharing knowledge, innovation and experiences while exploring opportunities to advance apiculture and improve the livelihoods of beekeeping communities across the continent.
