Amuria MP backs Teso endorsement of Muhoozi, warns against self-seekers

TESO — Amuria County MP, Hon. Samuel Ediau, has reaffirmed his full participation in the Teso sub-region endorsement of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
Addressing journalists in Teso today, Ediau said the Teso endorsement was a collective decision taken in good faith and in the interest of the sub-region.
He, however, cautioned that any national endorsement of Gen. Muhoozi, who is also the Chief of Defence Forces, must be honest and not driven by selfish political interests ahead of the 2031 elections.
According to him, support for Gen. Muhoozi should be anchored on national interest and genuine belief in his leadership, not on calculations to win favour.
“Leaders should be honest and put the people first,” he said, adding that Uganda needs open and principled political engagement.
Ediau noted that as political alignments intensify across the country, leaders should not lose focus on their core mandate of service delivery and addressing the pressing needs of their communities.
