Koboko Hospital gets first-ever digital X-ray machine.

KOBOKO — Koboko General Hospital in Koboko District has received a modern floor-mounted digital X-ray machine, a major boost to health service delivery in the district.
The over Shs400m machine, the first X-ray ever for the hospital, was commissioned by the Minister of State for Health in charge of Primary Health Care, Dr Charles Ayume.
He was accompanied by the Koboko Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Mr Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka, and his deputy, Hajji Marijani Walire.
Dr Ayume, who doubles as Member of Parliament for Koboko Municipality, said the machine will ease diagnosis and reduce referrals for patients who have been travelling long distances to access X-ray services.
He challenged health workers at the facility to improve performance by reporting early for duty and avoiding absenteeism.
The minister promised continued government support to the health sector and other sectors in the district.
Mr Hashaka commended Dr Ayume for being a responsive leader who consults his constituents and lobbies for services they need.
The RDC warned health workers against incompetence, saying government pays them well, with the highest-paid health worker earning Shs6.5m per month.
“We expect commitment in return. The government is investing heavily in your welfare, you must serve the people diligently,” he said.
Koboko General Hospital serves thousands of patients from Koboko and neighbouring districts in West Nile, as well as refugees from neighbouring countries.
